What is the climate or weather like in your local place?

Quito: is the capital of Ecuador, the country’s most populous city, and at an elevation of 2,850 meters (9,350 ft) above sea level. Its weather has a fairly constant cool climate. The average afternoon high temperature is 21.4 °C (70.5 °F) with an average night-time low of 9.8 °C (49.6 °F). 

The city has only two seasons: dry and wet. The dry season, June through September (4 months), is referred to as summer; the wet season, October through May (8 months), is referred to as winter. You should bring rain coat, umbrella for this season due to the precipitations.  

Cotopaxi: The Cotopaxi volcano is located in Cotopaxi, Napo and Pichincha Provinces.

It has an almost perfect snow cone that rises to 5,897 meters is unique in the world, the length is 33393 hectares, and the altitudinal range is 3.400 – 5.897 meters.

Recommendations about clothing: Warm clothes, waterproof poncho or raincoat in case of rain or drizzle, proper footwear, and walking boots if medium or long walks intended.

Mindo: is a mountainous watershed in the western slopes of the Andes, which covers an area of 268 square kilometers (103 sq mi) and ranges from 960–3,440 metres (3,150–11,290 ft) above sea level. Its temperature is between 15º C and 24º C (60º F – 75º F) during all the year.

Cuyabeno: is the second largest reserve of the 45 national parks and protected areas in Ecuador. From east to west, the elevation gently slopes from about 300 meters to slightly under 200 m above sea level and has an area of 603,380 ha (1,490,000 acres). The weather seems slightly milder than more eastern parts of the Amazon, with temperatures a bit lower during the day and at night usually cooling to the low twenties (°C) or seventies (°F).

Languages: There are many languages spoken in Ecuador. The predominant and official language is Spanish, in addition to Kichwa and other pre-colonial American languages

The customs: Remember this is only a very basic level introduction to Ecuadorian culture and the people; it cannot account for the diversity within Ecuadorian society and is not meant in any way to stereotype all Ecuadorian people you may meet.

•    The most common greeting is a handshake with direct eye contact and a smile.

•    While shaking hands, use the appropriate greeting for the time of day: “buenos dias”(good morning), “buenas tardes” (good afternoon), or “buenas noches” (good evening).

•    Always refer to people by the appropriate honorific title (Senor or Senora) and their surname.

•    In general, only close friends or family use first names.

Ecuador uses the U.S. dollar as their currency. This came about in the year 2000.

  1. How about the traveler’s meals? Breakfast? Lunch? Dinner? And boiled water?

The water which we are going to give you is purified water.

The breakfast in the city will be buffet, typical food as lunch, and the dinner in Quito will be in a restaurant with international food.  

  1. Is there free WiFi in the hotel rooms?

Yes, there is free wi-fi in all the hotel rooms but we don’t have wifi in the forest.

  1. What kind of plug do we need to bring? The standard of the socket? The adapter ?

In Ecuador the power plugs and sockets are of type A and B. 120 V and the standard frequency is 60 Hz.

It is not obligatory to give a tip. Therefore, check your bill first so that you can decide whether to tip or not. 

  1. What is the arrangement about our travelers shopping? Union Pay ?

Forced buying is not allowed. 

In Ecuador people use credit cards such as VISA, MASTERCARD, AMERICAN EXPRESS and DINNER CLUB.

Union Pay is not used in Ecuador, in addition, it is better for tourists to pay with denomination bills of up to 20 dollars, because it is not common to use the 50 or 100 dollar bills, if you use them they could have inconveniences when paying.

  1. Are there any restrictions about the entry and exit articles?
